The ritual of eating - what we eat and how we eat it - has an enormous effect on our quality of life.

So why is this act of growing food and sharing a meal together something we so often neglect?

Food

We believe that all food should come from a process built by nature. As farmers we hold the important responsibility to emulate and uphold these natural cycles.

If our soil life is flourishing, plants and animals thrive also, making food more nutrient dense and the people who eat it better nourished. Using holistic and ecologically focused methods, we work alongside nature to grow the best possible produce, without the cost to our planet.

Localised and biological small scale farms hold the power to turn the tide on the current
global environmental crisis. Loop embodies this movement.

Respecting resources at every stage of their life cycle is something that has the potential to do so much good for this world and we choose to play our part.

By partnering with various venues to collect yields that would otherwise be wasted, we build foundations for the diverse composting systems that feed our soil and ultimately our community.

Yields – Not Waste

From coffee grounds to wood shavings, brewery malt to eggshells - our aim is to capture a wide range of materials and save them from landfill. Our compost collection system is unique and designed
to create more effective and intelligent composting.

When we are composting, we are aiming to emulate a forest floor - an environment that sees the value in all materials that comes her way. Where the humus built stabilises soil moisture, stores and sequesters carbon and regulates the temperature of the planet. The closer we get to this natural system, the healthier our ecosystem becomes, growing easier and plants happier.

Community

Our most important crop...

Our focus is growing food with a foundation of interpersonal and ecological connection. By choosing this path, whole communities have gravitated to this land and our project, both above and below the ground.

We have actively welcomed those wanting to reconnect with their land and food system, opening up the farm to a beautiful, revolving and ever-changing group of volunteers, who gather to grow food with us here on the farm.

When the crops are ready, the harvest is looped back to our partnered venues and shared with those who pump energy into the farm - our vollies!

There is nothing quite like sitting down to a meal, made with food that every person at the table contributed to growing. It is an incredibly powerful thing…
